REQUIRED TO PASS THE CLASS:

a) Complete all online Chapter quizzes and the online final exam. You must have above a 75% on the Quizzes and you must pass the Final with an 80% or above (you can retake the final 3 times and you can retake each quiz once). Final and Quizzes are online and open book (you can use book/internet/etc). You may NOT have anyone help you while taking quizzes or the final. Doing so will result in an F in the class.

b) Complete All Required Homework: All in Chapter Exercises in the textbook (ie Yellow Boxes with Green/Blue Top) need to be typed up in Word documents (one document per chapter), include answers (that you can check in back of book) and emailed to your class instructor or to [email protected] with subject “First Name Last Name CMC Course Chapter X Exercises”)

Below are due dates for completion of Homework and Quizzes per each Chapter, the time starts once you register for the class:

1. Chapter 2 HW and Quiz – by 4th week
2. Chapter 4 HW and Quiz – by 6th week
3. Chapter 8 HW and Quiz – by 8th week (2 months)
4. Chapter 10 HW and Quiz – by 10th week (2 months and 2 weeks)
5. Chapter 13 HW and Quiz – by 12th week (3 months)
6. Final Exam – by 16th week (4 months)

CMC CERTIFICATION EXAMOnce a student has successfully completed the required outline, student can optional take the SEBRON Certified Medical Coder (CMC) Certification Exam. The test will consist of approximately 30 questions per section: ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPCS. Certification exam passing grade is 80%.
